It all starts in the year 2004, when destiny meddles in the life of two Souls, taking them to a magical Colombian Caribbean island; the only place on Earth where the ocean is painted with seven colors. 21-year-old Santi finds his Dulcinea and 15-year-old Juli meets her first boyfriend and future husband.

On a dock over the sea, they talk for hours on end while the stars witness the love sparkles bursting out of their racing hearts. As if they were on a job interview, their hands sweat unceasingly between curious interrogations. And with good reason, considering the type of questions he asks her:

“Do you believe we’re alone in the Universe?” asks Santi as he looks at the starry sky.

“Of course not” replies Juli, with the certainty that it’s impossible for life to exist only on Earth.

It’s not hard for her to fall in love with the restless and questioning spirit that has defined Santi since he was a little boy. That same curious gist that has led him to explore spirituality and meditation since he was 17 years old.

Years go by, and while the four seasons color once and again the hemispheres of the world, Medellin remains in an eternal spring. In this city – their hometown – Juli has been learning about meditation, and Santi, about love.

Finally, the last days of student life are here. Classrooms dismiss Santi and then Juli. The world of work welcomes them, in that same order. For a while, he plays to be the manager of a family business while she puts on her heels to assume the role of a sales executive.

Juli’s next working experience takes her back to the university. This time, to support young entrepreneurs on the pursuit of their wildest dreams. There, she meets hundreds of boys and girls with the most bizarre, ambitious and inspiring business ideas. Until one day, one of them asks her a question, a bit offensive according to her ego, but totally catalytic for her Soul:

“Hey, Juliana, are you planning on staying on that desk advising entrepreneurs for the rest of your life, or are you going to take a chance and make your own dreams come true?” Asks the young man, with no clue of the effect his words would have, not only on Juli’s life but also on Santi’s who, by the way, is going through some dreary times.

Without much passion, he spends his days on a job his Soul doesn’t vibrate with. This reality starts pushing and shoving the heart of the restless dreamer and induces him on profound reflections filled with existential questions:

“Is it possible that we come into this world only to survive, or is there a further purpose?” He asks himself day and night.

“Will I be able to transform my own life and dedicate myself to an intention I’m truly passionate about?” He wonders, determined to finding the answer.

Without ever imagining it, life itself was preparing and leading them towards one of the biggest and most wonderful experiences of their lives…

In the year 2012, Santi and Juli finally discover they are both pieces of the same puzzle. The Universe has brought them together for something else besides beaming love sparkles while holding hands. This is how Alma Works is born. An entrepreneurship dedicated to creating and sharing simple yet powerful tools – based on meditation and reflection – for a more conscious living!
